The Brief

For a brand, more than appropriately named, Design For Travel, we love the design aspect of all our projects.

From the conceptualisation of an idea, to picking colours, fonts, and creating a design that will ultimately help elevate our clients stand out from their competition, the design process is arguably the most fun part of creating websites for the travel industry.

But this isn’t the only way we’re able to help travel agencies launch their business online.

This was the case for Foray Travel; a travel agency based in Singapore, who approached us with a design of their own, looking for a developer to bring both their new website and booking platform into the digital realm.

We were more than happy to assist.

The Challenge

Foray delivered us an extensive design of both a website and booking platform made to synonymously combine to showcase their own inventory of hotel travel content, in a variety of ways.

Now being presented with just a design, brings about a unique problem; the client doesn’t have knowledge of how our systems work.

The luxury of both designing and building a product is that you know how you’re going to achieve such a build. When a design is provided for you, it provides an interesting challenge on how you’re going to best meet the client’s vision, as close to the design as possible.

A challenge that came in the form of how they wanted to present their content, the type of information they wanted to display, the functionality they wanted to include, and so much more. However, after a rigorous planning process, a solution was found.

The Solution

We provided Foray with Travelflow Contracts, our travel-based CMS. This gave them a specialised platform to load their travel content. Hotels, promotions, hotel chains, and more.

We built a custom booking platform made to showcase and provide a booking facility for their hotels loaded into Travelflow Contracts. Browse, search, and book hotels, just like a traditional booking engine.

Side 2 was the website. A WordPress website, with our own custom plugin designed to connect Travelflow Contracts content with WordPress, to display it on the frontend. Our plugin also included custom components to achieve custom functionality Foray had included in their designs.

Search facilities embedded directly onto the website that would hand off to our own booking engine, allowed customers to find and book the hotels they were after from a variety of avenues.

A deeply connected website and booking platform made for a complete solution for an agency looking to not only launch strong, but stay competitive in the online travel market.

The Result

The resulting product was exactly as they envisioned. And we’re so glad we were able to put together their vision.

A luxury travel website showcasing their hotels and promotions they had to offer, courtesy of their Travelflow Contracts platform. With search facilities that handed off quickly and seamlessly to our custom booking engine.

A booking engine that provided a swift booking experience for all their loaded hotels, packed with a variety of functionality and features included in their extensive proposal.

It became a complete end-to-end solution made to sell the travel how they wanted to. And we couldn’t have been more pleased seeing it all come together.
